Brian Smith – Krav Maga Exeter
” I would highly recommend British Krav Maga as a training provider to anyone considering training as a Krav Maga Instructor’
Introducing Brian Smith
Brian completed Instructor training in 2014. He now runs 2 large British Krav Maga schools supported by a team of certified Instructors.
My name is Brian Smith. I am a professional Krav Maga instructor, licenced under the British Krav Maga. I served 14 years as a Royal Marines Commando, reaching the rank of Sergeant, serving operationally around the globe, including Iraq and Afghanistan. I specialised as a weapons and tactics instructor, training both Royal Marines Recruits and Officers.
Since leaving the Royal Marines in 2012, I have worked in the private security industry as Maritime Security consultant conducting anti-piracy duties in the Indian Ocean as part of an armed security team embarked on commercial vessels transiting the high risk area and a Close Protection Officer.
I continue to work as a firearms instructor, conducting Maritime Firearms competency courses and as a lecturer on anti-piracy courses.
I have trained in Krav Maga since leaving the Royal Marines, reaching the grade of P3. In January 2014, I requested to be considered for the BKMA Instructor training which enabled me to use my ELCAS funding.
I would, without hesitation, wholly recommend Paul Grey and British Krav Maga for service leavers wishing to teach Krav Maga as part of their transition into civilian life. The cohesion between in British Krav Maga is exceptional, especially between the instructors, incredibly similar to that of a military unit.
I have known Mr Paul Grey, Training Director of the British Krav Maga, since 2012. From being accepted onto my instructor course Paul has been extremely supportive and proactive in setting up my Krav Maga schools across Devon. The advice and knowledge that Paul has shared has been invaluable to the success of Krav Maga Devon. Paul has been readily available throughout, demonstrating exceptional commitment and dedication to new instructors starting Krav Maga schools.
‘The Course is extremely professional we received outstanding instruction and support throughout. The course is physically demanding and challenging, but incredibly rewarding’
The instructor course itself was extremely professional we received outstanding instruction and support throughout. The course is physically demanding and challenging, but incredibly rewarding. The qualifications gained from the course are nationally recognised and relevant to teaching. The ELCAS process through the BKMA was incredibly efficient and stress free. Paul is very proficient and knowledgeable in this area, ensuring a smooth process for students.
